The Elián González Story

On Thanksgiving 1999, five-year-old Elián González was rescued at sea near the Florida Coast. His miraculous survival would put Elián in the middle of a political firestorm — tearing families and nations apart. Now, 25 years later, investigative journalist Peniley Ramirez revisits Elián’s story through the voices of people who lived it and shares a story never previously shared: her own.



Project
I was brought on to handle production logistics — schedules, staffing resources and client management. 

However, less than a month before the series premiered, I found the show needed extensive editorial support with archival. I jumped in and took the lead in researching, crafting fair use language, overseeing licensing and handling all legal issues across the series.
