A year after one of the deadliest school shootings in American history, journalist Maria Hinojosa travels to Uvalde, Texas to examine the police response, the community’s history of activism and current efforts to heal.
Project Futuro Media, led by Pulitzer Prize and Edward R. Murrow-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa, has produced groundbreaking reporting for over a decade. In 2023, the organization wanted to expand its investigative offerings beyond podcasts.
I was brought on to build an infrastructure for a television special — generating specs, building kits, onboarding team, tracking budgets, timelines, staffing and resource needs throughout the project. Given our tight turnaround to air, I also stepped in to help our producers and editors with filming plans, research, fact check, archival clearance and network deliverables.
At the end of the project, we created a 4-min webisode about an artist using art to heal the Uvalde community.
